HRSA’s Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry Clinician Educator Career Development Award
We are honored to have been granted the Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry Clinician Educator Career Development Award by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
We will receive $890,615 over the next five years for initiatives that will support our program faculty development and curriculum enhancements.
The grant period spans September 1, 2017-August 31, 2022.
Among other enhancements to our curriculum, the grant will support the design of areas of concentration (AOCs) in areas such as:
- Women’s health
- Global health
- Faculty development
- Oral health
Areas of concentration provide an opportunity for residents to focus their learning in a specific area.
Rebecca McAteer, MD, residency faculty and global health coordinator is the project director for the grant.
Alice Fornari, EdD, RD, Northwell Health’s assistant vice president of faculty development, and Shantie Harkisoon, MD, our program director, are the primary mentors for the project.
