Sleepy Hollow, NY

Home to both Phelps Hospital and Open Door Family Medical Centers, Sleepy Hollow is a diverse community that encompasses a scenic landscape and a welcoming downtown with a variety of public parks, shops, restaurants and pubs. A historic destination with spirited town life year-round, Sleepy Hollow’s most noteworthy claim to fame is its emblematic “headless horseman” which is seen everywhere during Halloween season and beyond.

The 1400-acre Rockefeller State Park Preserve, literally steps away from Phelps Hospital, is sublime; one of the most pristine landscapes any hiker, biker, horseback-rider or cross-country skier could ever hope for. The Hudson River, visible from the Phelps Hospital campus, offers countless, breathtaking views.

Westchester County

Nestled approximately 45 minutes north of New York City, and boasting strong community spirit, great schools and rich cultural diversity, Westchester has become a permanent home to many of our residents beyond their three years in residency. The county encompasses a variety of towns and cities, among them the neighboring Hudson River villages (Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley, Irvington and Tarrytown) as well as other nearby destinations such as Briarcliff Manor, Ossining, Peekskill, Pleasantville, Chappaqua, Elmsford and White Plains.

Westchester is a family friendly community with weekend farmer’s markets, wonderful public libraries, various town festivals and a variety of spiritual centers and religious institutions. The county offers an incredible variety of leisure activities within close proximity and depending on your interests: enjoy a meal at the wide variety of dining options in the area, shop at local boutiques/malls or engage in outdoor activities made available by the vast and diverse natural land in the area. Rockefeller State Park, North Country bike trail, the Hudson River Walk, various Hudson riverside parks in local villages and the stunning Hudson Highland mountains are all beautiful and easily accessible.
