Zucker School of Medicine

Located in Hempstead, NY, and founded in 2008, our academic sponsor was built upon the strong clinical and graduate medical education programs of Northwell Health and the robust research and academic programs of Hofstra University and the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research at Northwell Health. The School of Medicine, in a culture of community, scholarship and innovation, is dedicated to inspiring diverse, promising students to lead and transform medicine for the betterment of humanity.

Within the Department of Family Medicine at Zucker there are eight hospitals, four community health centers, and over 400 physicians in multiple locations responsible for over 9,500 inpatient and 88,500 outpatient visits per year, spanning the pediatric to geriatric population.  The department offers five Family Medicine residency programs, which employ a total of 110 residents, at the following facilities: Glen Cove Hospital, Plainview Hospital, Southside Hospital, and Peconic Bay Medical Center. The department has also aligned with Phelps Memorial Hospital Center to enhance our ability to train family physicians who can care for our communities.
